I’m not sure how I came to end up walking down the Clerkenwell Road the other weekend, or indeed how I came to have the time to wander into this shop.

Actually, that’s a lie. I was on my way to the British Museum (there should be another recommendation, right there), and I had plenty of time on my hands.

I really like bookshops. And I like books about art and design and all that, even though I’m not an artist, or a designer, or anything like that, and in fact I’m a pretty rubbish artist. But anyway, I like them. And that’s what this shop is about, and I was attracted in, and I’m glad I was.

In their own words, “all kinds of people, from all kinds of backgrounds, are walking through our doors on a daily basis, looking for something, not always sure as to what they are looking for,” and you know, that’s fair. That’s what I was like. And I just wanted to browse and look at pictures, and they let me.

And then later I came back and bought something. Two things, actually. And I’ll go back. For sure.
